When Your Kitchen Stops Working for You
Most kitchen problems in Destin start small. A cabinet base swells near the sink. Hinges rust from the salt air. The counter space runs out every time family visits for the summer. Professional kitchen remodeling fixes the cause, not just the look. A home kitchen remodeling project usually covers cabinets, counters, flooring, lighting, and the plumbing and wiring behind them. Some kitchens need a refresh. Others need a full rebuild. Small kitchen remodeling works the same way on a smaller scale. A smart layout, taller cabinets, and better storage can make a tight condo kitchen feel far more useful. The first step is simple. Look at what bothers you most each day, then let a licensed contractor tell you what it will take to fix it for good.
How to Compare Kitchen Remodel Contractors in Destin
Kitchen remodel contractors in Destin do not all work the same way. Some only install cabinets. Some only sell countertops. The Ramos Builders Group handles the full job, from tearing out the old kitchen to the final walkthrough. That matters, because a new layout often means moving pipes, adding outlets, or opening a wall. Ask every contractor who handles that work and who pulls the permit. Custom kitchen remodeling should start with how you cook, store food, and host guests, not with a showroom sample. We also take on commercial kitchen remodeling, though most of our work is in homes. If you own a rental, an office, or a small business space, tell us about it early so we can confirm the scope fits.

Build a Kitchen That Holds Up to Gulf Coast Living
A kitchen remodel is a big spend, so it should last. In Destin, that means picking materials that handle humidity, salt air, and heavy summer use. Solid wood or plywood cabinet boxes resist swelling better than particleboard. Stainless or coated hardware holds up near the coast. Good ventilation moves steam and cooking heat out before it soaks into the walls. Our team holds Florida building licenses RB29003855 and RB29003856, and we carry insurance for the work we do. You can look up any license on the state DBPR website before you sign. Ask us which options fit your budget. When the job is done right, you get a kitchen you enjoy every day and a home that shows better if you ever decide to sell.

Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on scope. A cabinet and counter swap moves much faster than a full gut with new plumbing and walls. You get a timeline after the walkthrough, once the full scope is clear.
Most kitchen remodels that touch plumbing, wiring, or walls need a permit from the City of Destin Building Division. Cosmetic work like painting cabinets usually does not. We check this during planning.
Most families do. Expect a few weeks without a working kitchen, so many people set up a small coffee and microwave station in another room until the new one is ready.
Plywood or solid wood boxes handle Destin’s humidity better than particleboard, which can swell when it gets wet. Pair them with stainless or coated hinges and pulls to fight salt-air rust.
Buyers notice the kitchen early. Focus on layout, storage, and durable finishes rather than trendy extras, and keep the design neutral enough to appeal to most buyers.
